A blast from the past

Found a couple of old photos from Spain while I was cleaning up my disk today and thought I'd post some of them. I can honestly say that I had THE best time of my life during this period and I'm still totally in love with the country.

My house in Albaycin overlooking Granada and Alhambra castle.

The huuuge terrace. Excellent for sipping red wine and barbequeing pinchitos watching nothing in particular to the sounds of the flamenco school next door, of shouting old ladies and screaming kids, goats, roosters, birds and insects.

The view.

Having a tapa at my local restaurant at Plaza Larga. I know you can hardly see me but I'm there. Excellent location but sadly you got nasty migas (fried breadcrumbs with varios leftovers) or Bocarones (small fish in vinagre) almost every time you ordered a beer.

Rainbow over Granada.

I was pretty lucky to meet two of my bestest friends down there, Diana and Jonny-Banan. Diana is still working on her university degree in Granada and Jonny the lucky bastard is back in Spain once more currently working in Ronda.

The swedish posse at Boopie's farwell-party. Fäffe, me, Glenn and Grafitti-Björn. Fäffe went back home to Helsingborg never to be seen again, but me, glenn and björn still keep in contact.

Two of my teachers and very good friends, Elena and Amelia. I've spent countless nights out with these two in various dodgy places and loved every one of them.

Boopie!

Ugh, german guy called Paul. He called his beard art and enjoyed juggeling and playing the digiridoo. When he confessed he liked to take black & white pictures of himself naked while stroking his beard I had enough and told him to fuck off. He then proceeded to tell me that "It felt like there was very bad energy between us" which was totally accurate. Worst roomie ever.

Hehe, this is how I looked after a year in Andalucia. Possible the best doo i've ever had..

The City

Every time I manage to take some time off my busy schedule to venture into the city of Sydney I end up in Chinatown for some reason. Its not really that big and I've seen pretty much everything there is to see there already, but I still keep ending up at the same spot. This time tho, I went a little further and visited Paddy's Market (a bit like Hotorget but indoors) as well.

Skyscrapers still makes me go "oooooh".

Same goes for Monorails. They remind me of the world of tomorrow in a wierd retro kind of way.

Note to self; Stay the fuck away from Malaysian food. It's utterly disgusting. Judging from the lunch I had their two favorite spices are KRYDDNEJLIKA and KRYDDPEPPAR. (insert english translation here)

Paddy's Fruitmarket.

Paddy's dried-stuff market.

Paddy's funky chinese latern market.

And this would be Paddy's wig market then.

I was about to take a picture of the guy in the wheelchair but then I chickened out and just shot his wheel instead.

Second-hand porn? Only in Australia.

Project: Botanical Gardens

One of our assignments this term is called Imagebased Design and our first client is Sydney's Botanical Gardens. We did an excursion to snap some photos and collect inspiration yesterday while the australian weather gave us a pretty sweet winter-day present boasting some 24 degrees.

Andy displays his newly learned yoga-stance "embracing the earth" for no particular reason.

This little fella is just chillin'.

And so is this one.. Aww cutie!

Urhm.

Nasty spider, the focus of my project.

Yeah, it's bamboo.

Fluffy cuddly plant. Have about 80 more photos of other ones as well but don't want to bore you with bright colours and lush leaves.

Back to school

The Roo at 7.45 in the morning on my way to catch the bus to school.

Our university, Billy Blue's School of Graphic Arts, is located on the 8th floor of the Hyundai skyscraper you see in the background.

Feeling fluffy but psyched.

First day back at Uni. Heavy brainstorming meeting at the local pub with Lisa and Andy.

Dorothy, cute classmate.

Snygg-Lars and Andy doing their daily routine - enjoying some thai-lunch and sunshine on the Manly Wharf.

The Manly Wharf in focus.

A new pad

After a couple of days of sleeping on Andys and Okars sofa I found a pretty nice appartment close to central Manly (I didnt movie in to the city after all) located on Kangaroo Street aka The Roo. I share it with a decent welsh dude called Mike who smokes more joints a day then anyone I've met the last couple of years. Our front door is made out of glass which gives me a constant anxiety that we'll get burglarized but cept for that its all good.
