ANZAC-day

Last tuesday was ANZAC day here in Australia which stands for Australian & New Zealand Army Corps and is ment to celebrate/honour the massacre at Gallipoli during the first world war where tons of aussie soldiers died for no particular reason. The aussies celebrates this in their usual manner, which is means getting drunk and gamble for money. The festivites started att noon and continued all day and people either won or lost various amounts of dollars playing TWO-UP, which means you flip a coin and bet on heads or tails. (This btw, is only legal on the ANZAC-day).

Tobbe and his newly found Swiss girlfriend Brigitte.

An ANZAC veteran I presume. Doubt he participated in the battle for Gallipoli but judging from the heaps of medals on his chest he must have done some pretty wicked stuff.

Its hard to see but all these people are standing in a circle watching the three coins being tossed into the air, hitting themselves on their heads shouting HEADS and sometimes TAILS. I managed to win 8 dollars before I too got pissed and mistook one 2 dollar coin for a 20 center and chucked it into the crowd hence making my final winnings a mear 6 dollars.

Hey ho!

Not sure whats happening in this picture. Looks like Andreas is trying to explain some complicated matter to Elin but she aint buying it.

This, my friends, is a longbowling-pitch. Very aussie, very boring.

Skolarbete

I heart sushirolls

Some random beer-drinking pic. Fryer, Filippa & me.

A japanese dude that played at the open-mic at The Stayne managed to produce one of the coolest sounds I've heard from a guitarr.

This is what you see if you take a ferry into the city.

Oye! 2 dollars (11 kronor) for a Teriyakichicken-roll sounds fantastic in my ears. Prolly illegal in yours. But its true and I eat about 5 of these a week.

Australian party-animal. Found in the local bar.

Thunderstorm over Manly. This shit was way cool!

Huge swedish/norwegian party with some spanish influences when Robin turned 24 the other week.

More photos

Okar is looking supprisingly happy considering he just wrecked a board he'd only had for 2 days..

Tobbe, Johan & Elin jamming.

One of our firsts projects in School was to create a Street Festival and then make a typeface for it. I chose Organic Farming & Food as a theme and have since been experimenting with carving out letters in potatoes and eggplants.

Not quite finished yet though.

March, first month

Ello peeps, havent updated the blog for a while now and since I finally got some spare time I suppose I have to do it right now. Been a busy month with school starting and me finally getting an own appartment, or rather, my own room, but its been great all in all. Im sharing a flat in central Manly with two fellas from Halmstad (I think) and a girl from Uppsala. Its not the cheapest apartment you can find and we dont have either balcony or garden but I'm happy to have a space of my own where I can concentrate on my school asignments and chill out. We only have classes wednesdays - fridays but you kinda need to work on the projects in your free time, so I dont have a whole lot of that to spare nowadays. Anyways, here are some random photos from the last month..

Another nice sunset..

Longreef, one of the northern beaches.

We spent a day in Hunter Valley, a famous wine growing district in New South Wales doing research for a school project.

The sun is setting over Manly.. We were having a barbie on Shelly beach.

Another photo from Hunter Valley.

Manly.. doh.

Andreas looking pretty goddam content on Fryers 30th birthday party, which was one of the best evenings I've had here so far. Unfortunally, the batteries in my camera died on me half an hour after arriving..

Norrlands-Jonas & Andreas after surfing at Long Reef. Jonas accidently ran over some guys board and after a breif argument the guy insisted Jonas would pay him 50 dollars, which he didnt.

Boopie! A swedish friend I met in Granada, who lives in London, came to visit some friends of hers in Manly. Although I didnt get to spent as much time with her as I wanted, we managed to have a few beers together.

Barbeque on Shelly Beach, last night for Johans & Magdalena who went back to Sweden the day after.

The Aussies loves their pie & mash. This is a chunky beef pie with grave by the looks of it..
